Smile of the Day

Life is getting much too serious, yes? Who doesn't need a daily smile?

Ask a silly question ...

The driver of a renowned philosopher (he must be renowned, to be able to afford a chauffeur) would listen in awe as the philosopher would easily answer questions about morality and ethics. Came the time for that evening's speech: and in a wild and brave moment the driver asks if the philosopher would be willing to switch roles for the lecture. To his stunned surprise, the philosopher agrees.

Through the entire speech the driver handles himself remarkably well. When it comes the time for questions from the guests, however, a woman in the back asks: "Is the epistemological view of the universe still valid in an existentialist world?"

"That is an extremely simple question," he responds quickly. "So simple, in fact, that even my driver could answer that -- which is exactly what he will do."
