Smile of the Day

Life is getting much too serious, yes? Who doesn't need a daily smile?

Sunday, November 13

Only in America ...

1)... can a pizza get to your house faster than an ambulance.

2)... are there handicap parking places in front of a skating rink.

3)... do drugstores (chemists) make sick people walk all the way to the back of the store to get their prescriptions, while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front.

4)... do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a diet coke.

5)... do banks leave doors open and chain the pens to the counter.

6)... do people leave cars worth thousands of dollars in the driveway and put the useless junk in the garage.

7)... do people use answering machines to screen calls, and then have call waiting so they won't miss a call from someone they didn't want to talk to in the first place.

8 )... are hot dogs (weiners) found in packages of ten and hot dog buns in packages of eight.

9)... do people use the word "politics" so accurately: poli (Latin, "many") + tics ("ticks": blood-sucking creatures). [Debatable!]

10)... do drive-up ATM machines have braille lettering.
