Smile of the Day

Life is getting much too serious, yes? Who doesn't need a daily smile?

Saturday, January 7

After 30 years the neighbourhood postman was finally retiring, and on his last day of delivering mail, every person on his route left him something in the mailbox: some money, some small gifts, while some even met him at the door and invited him in for a drink.

As he trudges up to the very last house and is putting mail in a mailbox for the very last time, the door opens: and there stands the woman of the house, decked out in beautiful lingerie and very little else. At her invitation he follows her inside and upstairs, where she makes mad passionate love to him.

After their lovemaking, she leads him back downstairs, where he discovers an exquisite dinner already all laid out for him ... and a dollar bill, neatly tucked under his plate. Curious, he asks her about it.

She explains: "When I called my husband to tell ask him what we should give you for your retirement, he said, 'Screw him, give him a dollar.' Dinner was my idea."
