Smile of the Day

Life is getting much too serious, yes? Who doesn't need a daily smile?

Measuring twice

He wanted a new suit, so he bought a nice piece of cloth and then searched for tailors. The first tailor he visited looked at the cloth and measured him, then told him the cloth was not enough to make a suit. Unhappy with this opinion, he sought out a second tailor: who looked at the cloth, measured him, then smiled and said that there was enough cloth to make a pair of trousers, a coat, and a vest. The suit would be ready next week.

When he came the next week to pick up the suit, he saw the tailor's son: who was wearing trousers made from the same cloth. He is puzzled, and so he asks the tailor: "Just how is it that you could make a full suit for me and trousers for your son, when the other tailor could not make even the suit?"

"Simple," says the tailor. "The other tailor has two sons."
