Tracking data

Two priests arrive together to meet St. Peter at the Pearly Gates. St. Peter apologises, he would like to let them in right then and there but ... the computers were down. "You will have to go back to Earth until we can get them fixed, but you can't go as humans. What do you wish to be?"

The first priest has always harboured a secret yearning to fly. He asks if he can be an eagle, soaring above the mountains. St. Peter grants it, and off the priest flies.

The second priest hems and haws a little, and finally asks: "Will you be keeping track of us, St. Peter?"

"No," says the keeper of the keys. "Because the computer is down, there is no way we can keep track of what you are doing. This week is a freebie."

"In that case," says the second priest, "I have always wanted to be a stud." St. Peter grants it, and the second priest vanishes.

After a week, the computer is finally fixed, and God tells St. Peter to recall the two priests: "Will there be any trouble locating them?"

"The first one should be easy," says St. Peter. "He is somewhere over the mountains, flying with the eagles. But the second one could prove to be quite a bit more difficult."

"Why?"

"Because he is on a snow tire somewhere in Alaska."
