Smile of the Day

Life is getting much too serious, yes? Who doesn't need a daily smile?

Sunday, January 14

A chap died and was waiting in a very long line for judgment. While waiting, he happened to notice that some people, after they went through the line, were allowed to go through the pearly gates; but not everyone consigned to hell was being thrown into the eternal fires. Instead, every once in a while, the devil would toss some poor soul to one side. After watching for hours, the chap gave up his place in line to ask the devil: "Excuse me, sir. I am supposed to be in line for judgment," (he didn't want the devil to make an unfortunate mistake!) "but I couldn't help but wonder why some of these people are being tossed aside instead of into the fires of hell?"

"Oh," said the devil with a snicker. "Those are Californians. These days they are too cold to burn."
