Ghost story

A Sydney university student was hitchhiking on a very dark night, in the midst of a Brisbane storm. The storm was so strong he could hardly see a few feet ahead of him, night was rolling on, and -- suddenly he saw a car, slowly rolling towards him, stopped. Desperate for shelter and without thinking about it, the student got in the car and closed the door ... only to realise that the engine was not on and there was nobody behind the wheel! The car started moving slowly. A curve was approaching. Then, just before the car hit the curve -- a hand appeared through the window and turned the wheel. Paralysed with terror, the student watched how the hand appeared every time they came to a curve.

The lights of a pub! Gathering strength, the student grabbed the door, leaped out of the car, and ran for it. Wet and out of breath, he rushed inside, downed two shots of tequila, and began telling everyone about his horrible experience.

About 15 minutes later, two guys walked into the same pub. They were also wet and out of breath. Looking around, they see the student at the bar; and one said to the other: "Look, Bruce -- here is the idiot that got in the car while we were pushing it."
