Smile of the Day

Life is getting much too serious, yes? Who doesn't need a daily smile?

Saturday, June 7

Touring the hospital

The Queen went to visit a hospital in Scotland, going bed to bed to visit the patients. She asked the first patient where he was from. He looked up at her and said, "O, my luve's like a red, red rose, That's newly sprung in June."

Odd, she thought. She went to another patient and asked if he was pleased with the care there. "O, my luve's like the melodie, That's sweetly play'd in tune," he replied.

As she was leaving, she beckoned to one of the nurses. "Tell me," she asked, "was that the psychiatric unit I just toured?"

"No, ma'am," replied the nurse, "it was the Burns ward."
